Breyer® Introduces Australian Racing Sensation Black Caviar!

Black Caviar, Australian Champion Thoroughbred racehorse, unbeaten in 22 race starts is the highest rated sprinter in the world. She has become an international sensation by shattering records and delivering unrivalled performances on two continents! And now, Breyer®, maker of the world's finest model horses since 1950™, has created a Breyer portrait model of this racing champion, an official Black Caviar product, to commemorate her unbeaten record and remarkable victory at Royal Ascot.

Black Caviar's most recent victory was in the 2012 G1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot in the United Kingdom, which was followed by a special congratulatory pat from Her Majesty the Queen. This incredible performance highlighted just how exceptional Black Caviar is, as she was the first mare to win this race in almost 30 years!

On her return home to Australia, Black Caviar was honored with a government reception where her Breyer portrait model was unveiled before the Premier of Victoria, the Victorian Minister for Racing, trainer Peter Moody and Black Caviar's owners, breeder and her 'team.'

This remarkable mare is trained by Peter Moody and has been ridden by jockey Luke Nolen in all but three races. Known as 'Nelly' to her friends, Black Caviar's winnings total more than $6.8 million Australian Dollars. As of June 2012, she holds the modern day world record for the longest winning streak in international racing, breaking the records of 19 successive wins held jointly by Australasian champions Gloaming and Desert Gold and the U.S.A.'s Zenyatta (also a Breyer model).

Breyer's Black Caviar model will be available from Breyer retailers throughout the U.S. and at BreyerHorses.com in October.
