A Windswept Weds...

We had that high desert wind today, at times it was so strong that it was like you were being sandblasted!
The Okay Corral horses braving the wind... (That is Stretch in front.)

The Big Pasture, before the winds really began.

Inspirada in Okay Corral.

Latte, looking cute and still looking for her new home. I sticked her today and she is already almost 16.2 hands tall at just shy of three years old...

Sanctuary Horse, Trace, in Big Pasture. Trace is a Wobbler.

Wasabi pauses for a photo between bites of hay...

The Big Pasture, that is Clovis up front.

Lark.

We went ahead and moved the newest arrivals out of Isolation and into the Mare Motel. Here Jack greets Banjo.

Cognac visited with her Hospice friends from the attached turn out.

Ember was interested in her new surroundings...

So was Starsky...

Here he meets new friend, Hutch.

Lobo also visited with Banjo...

Over in the Brat Pack in the Bungalows, Fame is looking good. She is such a sweet little filly...

Hammie Davis Jr has left the Pig Palace and was out wandering today. Here he roots around by BB's pen...
Sally worked on Image, he suffers from Cushings and barely sheds out his thick coat.

He has also been acting a bit quiet the last few days and we think he might have some sand in his belly. So here he is eating psylium and mineral oil in a nice yummy bran mash. He ate it all up, we will keep him on psylium for a while to help flush him out. Being in the desert, we do deal with sand and have to keep a close eye on the horses for signs of sand in the intestines. Sand is an issue that all horse people in the Western states have to deal with...

Cocktail and Calamity spent the morning in the turn out...

We moved Shawnie out of the Mare motel and moved her into the Okay Corral, which she seems to enjoy. Before she went out, she was groomed.

Then the dust storms started. Sometimes we need goggles out there!
