It seems like just yesterday that I was writing about the 2010 Alltech World Equestrian Games releasing the date tickets would go on sale. It’s been a year since then, and now there’s only a little over 24 hours left to wait. Ticket sales for the eight riding disciplines will begin at 12 noon Friday, September 25 through the WEG website and Ticket Master.
It will be interesting to see how quickly the tickets go, particularly in this economy. I’m guessing the more popular and well-known events, like show jumping, reining, and dressage will go the fastest. These are also the most expensive events to attend.
Ticket prices start at $25 for a session of Para Dressage and go as high as $140 for the Dressage Grand Prix Freestyle. If you are planning to attend WEG and are thinking of buying event tickets, you can see the entire competition schedule with ticket prices here.
If you can’t get tickets for the event you want, or aren’t sure if you are attending, there’s going to be plenty to draw you to the Kentucky Horse Park during this international event. There will be demonstrations and exhibitions, a huge tradeshow, and all kinds of equestrian displays to visit. Clinicians, organizations, and entertainers will be educating and celebrating the horse in the Equine Village. General admission to the World Equestrian Games will include all of this; the tickets on sale tomorrow are only for entry to watch the competition itself. Even with just a general admission ticket, you will be hard pressed to see everything there is to see!
General Admission tickets will be available in the spring. If you do purchase a reserved seat at a competition event, however, your admission to the park for that day is included in that ticket price.
Purchasing World Equestrian Games Competition Tickets
Ticket sales will be facilitated by Ticketmaster, and sold through the official World Equestrian Games website and Ticket Master. Tickets will also be available for purchase at all Ticketmaster outlets. Anyone with special needs, including ADA seating, may call the Ticketmaster hotline at 1-800-745-3000.
Tickets for reserved seating will be available to each session of competition of the eight world championships of equestrian sport. Prices range from $25 to $150, providing a range of options for every spectator.
All tickets will be sold on-online, through the Ticketmaster hotline, or at any Ticketmaster outlet. No tickets will be sold in person or via phone at the World Games 2010 Foundation office or the Kentucky Horse Park.
